The Eastern Redbud tree, or Cercis canadensis, is aptly named due to it's dark red flower buds that open pink (and on some varieties white) in the spring. Redbuds come in many foliage colors such as yellow and burgundy. The weeping redbud tree is an especially interesting variety and very popular form. From a distance, Redbuds in bloom look purple in color. The large, heart-shaped leaves offer a wonderful texture to the landscape in summer and fall. Wondering what pairs well with Redbuds?
