Myrica pensylvanica

Vigorous and spreading, this semi-evergreen has aromatic, dark, glossy foliage in the summer followed by a deep burgundy fall color. Blue-gray berries in winter. Very hardy, very tolerant with both leaves and berries extremely aromatic. Superb for group plantings in rough areas. Tolerates sun and shade. Nice fall color.

Growing Tips

Little care needed. Prefers sandy soils, tolerates all but the wettest areas. While little pruning is needed to maintain the plant, late winter is the best time to prune to control height.
